Opening of the LRT electrified train line between Salam and the New Administrative Capital

The Ministry of Transport will officially inaugurate the LRT electrified train project, which will link the cities of Salam and the Tenth of Ramadan and the New Administrative Capital, on Sunday, to the public.

Informed sources indicated that the project was run on a trial basis for a period of 4 months in order to ensure the efficiency of its operation before it is officially opened to the public.

She added that the price of a passenger ticket was set at 15 pounds for the first 3 stations, 20 pounds for up to 6 stations, and 35 pounds for all 12 stations, the first phase, which is 70 kilometers long, and starts from Adly Mansour station to the Arts City within the new administrative capital, pointing out that The trip will only take 40 minutes.

She pointed out that the second phase includes access to the Industrial City of the Tenth of Ramadan, crossing the city of Al-Shorouk and Badr, with a length of 33 km.

She stated that the trial run of 22 trains that will be operated on the line to transport passengers from Adly Mansour station to the Administrative Capital has been completed.

The sources pointed out that the Minister of Transport, Lieutenant-General Kamel Al-Wazir, inspected the implementation track of the project today, Wednesday, with the aim of making sure of its efficiency once and for all.

The cost of implementing the project is 1.3 billion dollars, which was managed through the Chinese Exim Bank, and the Chinese company IFIC supervised the implementation of the project, while the French “RATP” supervised its operation.
